RESTORED Mid Century Modern teak "Heart" set of expansion table & 6 chairs by Hans J Wegner
For sale, we have an iconic Mid Century Modern "Heart" dining set designed by Hans J Wegner for Fritz Hansen in Denmark circa the 1950s. The "Heart" set is one of the most recognizable and sought-after pieces in Danish furniture design.
This exceptional vintage dining suite consists of 6 three-legged chairs, known as the ‘heart’ chairs due to the shape of the seats, model FH4103, and an extremely rare four-legged oval table version with an additional leaf to extend, made of teak and oak. Most commonly, the "Heart" set comes with a round three-legged fixed-top table, and is made of teak and beach. Whilst the round table can accommodate 6 chairs, it does not have space for a lot of plates.
The set is in superb vintage condition and wonderful patina. We cleaned and polished the wood, reglued the chairs, and the set is ready for the new home. The photos from the outside show the leaf as lighter in color than the rest of the table, but inside, they are the same color.
The table, not extended, is oval 57.5" x 39.25" H 28.5", extended with the middle leaf of 19.5" table is 77" x 39.25" H 28.5".
The tripod chairs are compact W 21.5" x SH 17.75" x BH 29" x D 18" . They are stackable.
